The next ATTT (the 47th) is to be held May 31 to June 3, 2009. There is no charge for delegates or presenters except sharing the cost of accommodation and meals beyond some modest subsidies we receive from companies and organizations.
A Broad Overview:
For the past 46 years I have been hosting an informal annual Advanced Technology Think Tank. Please let me know if your firm might be interested in attending and/or presenting a one hour seminar on a topic relating to manufacturing technology. We try to keep the attendance at this conference fairly small (maximum 24)to allow delegates to know each other better and keep presentations and discussions in an informal and relaxed manner.
Past Major Highlights
** This unique and long-lasting Think Tank started in 1962 with 6 delegates.
** In the third year, industry was invited so we could find out where they were and where they were going. This practice has continued ever since.
** The numbers steadily increased until last year there were 22 delegates. We like to keep the numbers no larger than 24 to keep it a manageable and cohesive group.
** The background of the attendees ranges from writers, publishers, Industry Canada, National Research Council, inventors, researchers, management executives, to name only a few. These are generally key decision makers and there is no way of telling how far their recommendations would carry.
** Our main purpose is to exchange knowledge in a relaxed and informal atmosphere where titles and ties are not used.
** In the past, the Annual Conference has been held at Samoset Lodge in Monetville, Ontario and in 2008 it was held at Chippawa Cottage Resort in Barry’s Bay, Ontario.
** Attached are a few files including past attendees and company supporters who either made presentations or supplied literature for the Conference package.
Next year's program, May 31 to June 3, already includes commitments from Gifted Student Inventors program, Mazak Corp. on machine tool advances, and Honda Company.
